The Grand Canal

Not really a walking experience.  Take the No. 1 Vaporetto from anywhere on the Grand Canal and stay on it for the ride.

Giudecca

The most obvious ommission and a large ‘chunk’ in the north-western side of the city.  Visible from the Salute and Veronese walks.

Western Cannaregio

Parco Savorgnan is a green pocket in the north-western side of the city.  A wander along the Fondamenta Cannaregio is a good idea – check out the Ponte dei Tre Archi.

‘Outer’ Castello and Sant’ Elena

There is a good ‘chunk’ on the eastern side of the Arsenale to be explored, including the Biennale Gardens, a peaceful haven.  The same can be said of Sant’ Elena, just beyond.
